Meet The Photographer
WELCOME EVERYONE!!
My name is Britta Swoboda, the owner and founder of Britta Swoboda Photography LLC. I am SO PUMPED that you are here!! For my first blog post, I wanted to introduce myself a little more in depth than my “get to know me” page does. I don’t want to just be the photographer you hired for your wedding day, but I want to be your friend. And I believe that it starts with you getting to know me so that you feel 1000% confident when you book me! And even if you do not book me, I love making new friends anyways. So it’s a win-win situation 🙂
So without further ado, here are some fun facts about me!!
1. JESUS!!!
“Why photography?” I get this question a lot. The one answer for this is Jesus Christ. Everything I do is because of what the Lord has done for me! The only reason I even have a photography business is because of Him! I strive to create beautiful photos that reflect the Creator himself. We are all made in Imago Dei (the Image of God) and I love that I am able to share that in the content I create.
Something I have learned more and more about on my photography journey is the idea of every story is worthy. Meaning, YOU matter!! Your story is unique, beautiful, and worthy of being known. The perfect example of this can be seen through the story of the Gospel. Jesus resurrected from the grave FOR YOU so that YOU can have a relationship with God!!
2. Meet the Fam
I am one of four kids in my family. I am the second oldest (yay for being a middle child)!! I am so thankful for my family and how they have supported me in my photo business from the beginning. I took my two sisters on photoshoots ALL THE TIME when I got my first camera haha!! Thankfully they loved getting free photos, so it all worked out 🙂 They are seriously the best!!
3. I am a student at Biola University
I am not only a business owner, but also a full time student. I am studying marketing and absolutely LOVE everything business! School has always been challenging for me, but I am thankful to be able to go to college and run my business at the same time!
4. You guessed right – I am OBSESSED with mountains!!
This is definitely no secret to anyone who knows me. Whether its mountains or red rock, I am a lover of all things nature, especially when I am hiking in it. I could talk about hiking, National Parks, and traveling ALL DAY!! For over 7 years, I have planned my family’s hiking trips out west. We have been to places like the Tetons, Banff, Southern Utah, Glacier, and more. I love being in these places because of its jaw-dropping scenery that makes you realize how incredibly small we are and how incredibly big God is!
5. My photography journey
When I was in 4th grade, I decided I wanted to start my own business in the future. Little did I know that this would later be a photography business. Flash forward to my freshman year of high school, my mom bought me a camera for my birthday. I told her I did not want it, but she gave it to me anyways (I guess mothers know best LOL). I started doing a lot of landscape and portrait photography, which led me to wedding photography my freshman year of college. While I can’t put every single detail of my journey on here, I will say that it has been worth every step of the way. Like any entrepreneur, you will have your ups and downs, failures and success, and A LOT to learn along the way. Starting a business and maintaining it has been a challenge, but I am so thankful for the people around me that have supported me in this process. So long story short, I love people and photos, which is why I am a photographer!
And there ya have it! I hope this has given you a glimpse of who I am and why I am a photographer. I am so excited to create this blog space as a way for you to get to know more about me, my business, and other cool things.
